Avicii's posthumous album 'Tim' is set for release on the 6th of June, with proceeds going towards the Tim Bergling Foundation, a charity established in his name. However, eager fans will be able to get a sneak peek at what's to offer through the use of special cubes, which have been installed in several cities around the world.

A video uploaded to Avicii's official YouTube channel gives more of details about the cubes, showing a message printed on the side which reads:

"Avicii’s music was the soundtrack when we fell in love, when we made new friends and that time we danced all night. Avicii connected us. Around the world there are cubes just like this one. Walk inside and place your hand on the glowing Avicii symbol. When the symbols in two cubes are touched at the same time both cubes will activate. Together you will experience the new Avicii album."

The general idea is to connect people from around the world and bring them together to listen to 'Tim'. Once two people in different cubes press the Avicii symbol at the same time, they will be able to preview the album together.

Six locations have been chosen to house the cubes: Sydney, Tokyo, Stockholm, London, New York and Sao Paulo, whilst smaller cubes will also be installed in Oslo, Paris, Berlin, Salzburg, Bucharest, Zürich, Taipei, Auckland and Toronto.

So far, two tracks have been released from the upcoming album, namely 'S.O.S' with Aloe Blacc and 'Tough Love' with Vargas & Lagola, whilst other collaborations include Imagine Dragons and Chris Martin.
