‘The Office’ Star John Krasinski to DJ Virtual High School Prom
Apr 17, 2020 | by Will Mitchell
Here’s another bizarre headline that could only happen in Coronavirus times: The Office’s John Krasinski has announced that he will be hosting a prom for students practicing social distancing.
Amidst the ongoing pandemic, schools all around the world have closed their doors and students are unable to leave their houses. Krasinski decided he wanted to do something to cheer up 2020 seniors, which is how his virtual prom idea came about.
The event will take place on Krasinski’s “Some Good News” YouTube channel on Friday at 8pm ET/5pm PT. He launched the channel to bring some positivity to the internet during these trying times and uses it to share inspiring stories and other acts of kindness.
In the post to his Instagram, Krasinski said "That’s right class of 2020 I’m DJing your prom with some friends this Friday night 8 ET/5 PT!! Click link in bio for invitation! See you then!"

The actor is best known for playing Jim Halpert on The Office, but has since gained recognition for his roles in A Quiet Place and Amazon series Jack Ryan. Last week, he gave a Hamilton superfan a surprise by reuniting the original cast to perform the song Alexander Hamilton over Zoom. Check out the video below.
