Still Not Over S2O Taiwan? S2O Japan Will Wash Away Your Post-Festival Blues

S2O Taiwan is already behind us... I'm sure that although many of you got the chance to let loose and cool down over the weekend, after the first day back at work your post-festival blues start to kick in. If you're looking for one more opportunity to escape from the heat this summer, it goes without saying that S2O Japan is your best choice! For those who aren't totally clued up, here is a closer look at the lineup for Japan's second Songkran festival.
Take a look and familiarise yourself with some of the tracks you might have forgotten about, because they're sure to be blasting out of the speakers this weekend. Additionally, the set times have been officially announced, so see the images below and make sure you don't miss a single minute of your favorite act.
S2O Japan Lineup Day 1
During the first day of the festival, four of the acts you loved from S2O Taiwan (Yellow Claw, Knife Part, Vinai and TJR) have been invited to perform again. They will be joined by some of the most sought after artists from Japan and beyond, read the introductions below to find out more about this year's acts.
TJO (13:45)
TJO has an extremely varied heritage. Born and raised in France, he also has roots in both Japan and Thailand, it's this blend of cultures that influenced his music and helped him create a style so varied that it earned him the nicknamed "Mr. Open Format". Juicy M (14:45)
Repping it for the women at S2O Japan this year, Juicy M already has over a decade of DJ experience under her belt- at just 28 years old! She began by playing mainly Hip Hop, then transitioned into EDM and even created her own label: JUMMP Records. From early on, Juicy M rapidly gained recognition and support from artists like Calvin Harris, Bob Sinclar, Laidback Luke and others, particularly as a video of her mixing on four CDJs at once received over 22 million views on YouTube. Julian Jordan (15:45)
Hailing from the DJ factory that is the Netherlands, when he was just 14 years old Julian Jordan published his first song on the internet, capturing the attention of several record labels in the process. Whilst he was still in school, Julian signed to Spinnin' Records which is where he became friends with Martin Garrix... Jump forward to today and he's now part of Garrix's STMPD RCRDS family, championing the Progressive House and Big Room House genres. S2O Japan Lineup Day 2
KSUKE (13:45)
KSUKE is Japan's secret weapon, having previously reigned at the top of DJ Mag Japan's rankings in 2016, he has performed across various stages at the world-renowned Ultra Music Festival. KSUKE's style is extremely versatile and he really knows how to bring the heat. This one is definitely one not to be missed, just browse through his Spotify playlist if you need any more convincing.
Throttle (14:45)
Throttle is frequently referred to as the next big thing in music. At just 22 years old, he has some serious achievements to his name, including a string of high-profile collaborations and an outstanding Tomorrowland performance. Throttle played at S2O's flagship event in Bangkok this March, getting the crowd so hyped that the organisers just had to have him back for another show. Throughout his career, Throttle has really found his niche in the industry-his entire sets have Dirty Disco flowing throughout, making it impossible not to get carried away dancing.
Jay Hardway (15:45)
Since 2016, Jay Hardway has consistently made it onto DJ Mag's Top 100 list and continues to prove he is a master of Progressive House and Big Room house. The Dutch DJ is signed to Spinnin' Records and has worked alongside some of the leading names in the industry, such as fellow Dutchman Martin Garrix.
Bassjackers (16:45)
Another S2O veteran, the Bassjackers are always on top of the latest mainstream trends. They have experimented with Electro House, Progressive House, Big Room House, Dutch House, Future House and Psytrance... the chances are if you've heard of the genre, Bassjackers have given it a go. As to their live skills, watch the following video from Romania's Neversea Festival- we promise you won't be disappointed.
Cash Cash (17:50)
Cash Cash are the New Jersey brothers who've gained a reputation for blending EDM with elements of Pop. The trio have gained a massive following, partly due to their legendary collaborations with the likes of Pink, Bebe Rexha, Busta Rhymes and so on. Listen to their set from this year's Ultra for a taste of whats to come...
Showtek (18:50)
From Techno to Hardstyle and Electro to Progressive House, in recent years the Showtek duo have undergone many transformations. In the past, the pair have worked with artists like Tiësto, Chris Brown and David Guetta and just last month released the track Rave with Steve Aoki and Makj (featuring Kris Kiss). To see the level of energy that they'll be bringing to the S2O Japan stage, let’s take a look back at last year's performance in Parookaville, Germany.
Nicky Romero (19:55)
Headlining the second and final day of S2O Japan, for most electronic music fans out there, Nicky Romero needs no introductions. He started playing the drums as a child which helped to cultivate his interest in the music industry. The Dutch artist rose to mainstream fame after the release of his track Toulouse as well as the chart topping collaboration with Avicii: I Could Be The One. We can't wait to see what Nicky has up his sleeve for S2O this weekend, as the closing act for the festival he's bound to pull it out the bag.
