Last week, news broke out that Martin Garrix would be pulling out of all upcoming shows due to an ankle injury, just before he was due to headline the Friday night at Ultra Korea. Fortunately, Porter Robinson took it upon himself to fill in the gap, delivering an exhilarating DJ set right after performing on the same stage with his side project, Virtual Self.
Towards the end of the set, Robinson dropped Garrix and Bebe Rexha's widely celebrated track "In the Name of Love", receiving huge cheers of approval from the crowd.
"This one goes out to Martin Garrix, I promised Martin I would play one of his songs tonight. I really wish he could be here."
Luckily, those who weren't there in person need not miss out, as both the sets were recorded and uploaded to YouTube in high quality. Skip to 48:55 for the Garrix tribute. Throughout the video, you'll witness Robinson throw in music by Daft Punk, RL Grime, San Holo, Darren Styles and so on, before ending on his joint project with Madeon: "Shelter"- complete with an anime visual narrative.
